The first installment of my new European travel series is here & I am so glad you have joined me! This series will cover all the potentially helpful travel tips and hilarious details of our Italian honeymoon. Rob and I left for Italy the Monday after our wedding. Which I highly recommend for brides who are currently planning their moons, it gave us time to decompress from the wedding & time to pack. As for packing, I think I had seen one too many facebook posts from friends that had been backpacking in Europe.
Naturally, I wanted to be just as cool so I convinced my new hubby that we needed to pack backpacks for our trip.
I told him we needed these because it would make traveling way easier (real motive: I wanted to be that cute honeymooning couple that looked adventurous & carefree with their matching mountain climbing backpacks that had never actually seen a mountain ) NEVER AGAIN. This was literally the worst idea ever. I had convinced myself it would be convenient but 40-60lbs on your back is never convenient. So word to the wise, do yourself a favor and just use a rolling bag like every other couple on their honeymoon.
October 12th – 20th 2015
Left Richmond 10/12/15 4:25pm arrived in Capri 10/13/15 2pm
Richmond – New York – Paris – Naples -Then took a 1hr ferry to Capri
Too many pairs of shoes
Lots of bathing suits
So many dresses
1 pair of pants (dumb)
2 shirts ( also dumb, especially since 1 of those said “wifey” on it #thatgirl
Adapter for outlets ( I used this exact one for my extensive hair routine/that’s a whole other blog post in itself )
Hat (that I had been dying to wear but was certain it would be best suited for Italy, wore it the entire time and I literally never wear hats. Don’t believe me? Refer to my instagram #stockmoon.
Big ol satchel
A billion nighties (come on guys, it was our honeymoon)
Wish I had packed:
Maybe 1 bathing suit but Italy is pretty chilly in October so multiple honeymoon kinis is not a thing then.
Multiple pairs of pants
Light rain jackets
English to Italian dictionary (we had a really hard time figuring out how to get around in Naples, more on that later)
Light sweaters/pull overs
